Full Version vs. Free version

idc replied the topic: Full Version vs. Free version

Hi Don.

Unfortunately that would not possible, the midi note data that is being sent to the GTX is MIDI NOTE, it does not contain 'Audio' just data saying ie C4 ON, and C4 OFF. The Keyboard will receive this information and has the ability to play the sounds that are required.
Hope that makes sense.

If you set the GTX to MID Merge Mode, it should be possible to connect both the DAW and the Full Version of the Editor at the same time.
Editor via USB, DAW Via Midi.

Hi Ian,

I totally understand about the delay in new posts, sorry about that.

Thank you very much for bringing to light the main feature differences of the Free and Full versions. I can see it will be a no-brainer for me as to what version I will be 'buying'..lol.

One more question, and it pertains to saved set lists and info contained in them.

I use a Yamaha DAW keyboard that sends MIDI info from the MIDI OUT port to the GTX for harmony NP detection. The highly modified XG MIDI file that is played on the keyboard is sent to the mixer, that accompanies me.

Would this Editor program have the ability to save MIDI file data in XG format as well as the edited preset information already stored, and play each simultaneously..??. If it did I could connect directly from the laptop to the mixer and take out the keyboard and use the laptop as the DAW now.

Thanks,
Don

Hi Don,

Apologies for the delay; New User Posts are moderated before appearing; it's the best way to stop spam robots.

The Free version allows you edit all the preset and system parameters that is available on the Device.

The Full version adds lots of extra features, like a separate Studio screen.

In the studio screen, you can visually see the level and which effect is active at a glance, you also have a clipboard where you can copy individual effects to it from different presets, and then paste these into whichever preset you are creating/editing. It makes creating new and existing ones nice and easy.

The Librarian section, can hold up to 9,999 preset ( Most of the Mega Packs for the GTX are included), you can double quick a preset to instantly preview them. You can transfer any preset in the library to the GTX.
It holds up to 99 Complete backup of the GTX, you can preview and copy individual presets from within the Backup to the GTX.

The Live screen allows you to use the editor to run your set list (upto 99 setlist all holding upto 200 presets), it also has an acoustics section where you adjust the % of a level for the venue, so if an effect is too much or less for the venue, you can adjust the %age level, the the editor will automaticallya adjust the levels accordingly when changed.
It also has a SNAPSHOT mode, where you can make a copy of the preset that you have changed via the live screen, you can then recall this at a later time.
As the live section uses it's own copies of presets, it does not matter what presets are on the GTX, they will always sound as they should.

That covers the majority of the extra features, there are many many more...
