Notes vs Chord Presets

idc replied the topic: Notes vs Chord Presets

Hi

Below is a chart which hopefully explains what the TCH device produces based on the sung note.

Note this is information is from TC-Helicon; so I take no responsibility for its accuracy etc. etc.

Hope it helps

I am using a keyboard playing simple chords to control harmony voices, and for most of the vocal part, the harmonies follow my lead vocal perfectly. Then, for the last section of the vocal part, I want the two harmony voices to follow the lead voice with specific notes over two chords (A to F#m), but I can't get the harmonies to sing the specific notes. I tried changing the keyboard chords with several variations to no avail.

The three notes the lead is singing (in A major) is the 1 (A), 2 (B), and 3 (C#).
The "1 Down" harmony should be the 5 (E), 6 (F#), and 8 or 1 (A), but it always skips the F# so the 2nd and 3rd notes are both A.
The "1 Up" harmony should be the 3 (C#), 4 (D), and 5 (E), but it also skips the middle note to make 2nd and 3rd notes both E.

I've tried changing both keyboard chords to just the root plus the exact notes the harmonies should be singing, but that didn't work. I even switched to Scale mode and tried the 3 different A major scale settings.

Are there any suggestions as to different chord voicings I should try or are there other harmony presets or tweaks that might make this work?

If my only option is to use a MIDI Notes preset, would I simply edit the keyboard part to play just the exact notes that each harmony should sing? Does that mean that Notes presets do not require a lead vocal to follow?
